Hire me
I work as a software engineer and as a technical cofounder. Below is what I can bring to each role, without the resume formatting.
As a software engineer
- Eight years of full-stack work across Ruby on Rails, React, and TypeScript
- Built a production AI stack from scratch: embeddings pipeline, pgvector semantic search, grounded tutor chat with citations, structured JSON tagging, and per-request cost tracking
- Designed retrieval that grounds chat on catalog search, transcript snippets, and watch history, with keyword fallback when the provider is down
- Migrated LLM inference from a third-party network to direct provider APIs while keeping a provider-agnostic interface and graceful fallback
- Shipped a platform end to end: Rails 8 APIs, React/TypeScript frontend, PostgreSQL, JWT auth, RSpec, deployment, and observability
- High-traffic Rails work in correctness-critical environments: background jobs, production incident response, and mentoring junior engineers
- GraphQL and REST API design for payroll, HR, messaging, and financial transaction systems
- Third-party integrations: Stripe subscriptions, Apple App Store IAP, direct-to-S3 uploads, YouTube telemetry, and transactional email with bounce handling
- Database work in PostgreSQL including schema design, query tuning, and pgvector with HNSW indexes
As a technical cofounder
Everything in the engineering section applies here. On top of that, I have done the operator work that early-stage companies need alongside the product build.
- Founded a company and owned product engineering from zero to production
- Recruited and led a distributed team
- Set technical standards, scoped work with institutional partners, and stayed close to customers through support and feedback
- Cap table management and equity administration
- Corporate tax filing and basic compliance work
- Product direction, prioritization, pricing, and go-to-market decisions
- Vendor relationships, contracts, filings, and the day-to-day operations that keep a small company running
